Unexpected twists

I just got back from San Francisco. It was lovely. However, there was an unexpected twist to my visit – a literal twist. I twisted my ankle part way through my visit. It just meant that plans had to be modified and sometimes outright changed.

Books and life are sometimes like that. A twist can take a reader (or a person) on an unexpected path, but those paths can be intriguing. What will you find as you explore different options? Where will you go? Sometimes writing itself is like that. We write one scene, only it doesn’t come out on paper the way we were expecting, and that can lead to a whole different story.

It kind of reminds me of a famous poem – Two roads diverged in a yellow wood . . .
